Ficks Crossing is an ideal site for school camps and sporting and recreation activities.

Situated on Barambah Creek in the South Burnett half way between Murgon and Wondai in the South Burnett (about 270 kilometres from Brsibane), Ficks Crossing recreational reserve offers:

Affordable, comfortable, group accommodation for up to 66 people, including 4 cabins sleeping 12 people each in bunkhouse style accommodation, 4 rooms sleeping 2 and 10 portable beds in the lower recreation room.

  • Outdoor Shaded Area seating for 60 people
  • A Sports Field (150m x 75 m)
  • A Floodlit Hard Courts for Tennis, Volleyball and Netball
  • Aquatic Activities- Barambah Creek - Swimming, Canoeing and Kayaking
  • Seminar Rooms - Fairdale Hall (10m x 5 m) - seats 20
  • A Dining/ Recreation Hall - upper level (15m x 10 m) - seats 50
  • Lower two Recreation Rooms - (12m x 8 m) - seats 20 - 30 per room
  • Amphitheatre / Camp Fire Area
  • Laundry facilities are available to all campers.

You can stay for one or more nights. We can cater all your needs to make your stay all the easier. This will allow you to focus on what you came for rather than having to worry about all the cooking as well.

We also plan to offer opportunities for schools in South East Queensland to bring students to our recreational facilities to experience outdoor education as well as Indigenous culture. we plan to promote indigenous culture by offering interactive experiences delivered by members of the Cherbourg Aboriginal community.
