Reconciliation Awards for Business in the Emerging Business category
The Silver Lining Foundation's sustainable business model in supporting Indigenous communities through employment, training and real-world job opportunities has gained recognition from the Queensland Premier, The Hon. Anna Bligh MP.
In May 2008, the Foundation won the HIGHLY COMMENDED Award for Iron Bark Ridge Services in the Emerging Business Category in the 2008 Reconciliation Awards for Business. This Award was initiated by the Queensland Government to acknowledge organisations taking positive steps towards reconciliation. In 2009, Iron Bark Ridge Services was a FINALIST in these Awards.The Foundation was presented with the HIGHLY COMMENDED Award by the Premier at Parliament House in May 2008.

Building Community Relations
The Foundation has gone to considerable lengths to establish good relations with Cherbourg community. It meets regularly with its Indigenous Advisory Group from Cherbourg and, through its activities with Cherbourg State School, the Foundation is actively seen as a contributor to the children's opportunities.

The Foundation's enterprise Iron Bark Ridge Services, provides breakfast to children from Cherbourg State School under the Kids-for-Life program. It also provided school shirts and bags to the children, courtesy of a donation by APN Australian Publishing. |
